Our Super Event Story

The story began in February last year when my now husband, proposed at his birthday party.  He was telling everyone we were going to have the wedding reception in the garden.

So the date was set shortly afterwards and the process began of organising our wedding.  I wanted a company who could do everything; marquee, catering etc and thought this was going to be a difficult task.

On browsing the internet I came across Super Event and was impressed that they did everything we needed all in one complete package. So the call was made and Chrystelle answered, arranging for Tony to come and visit us and discuss what size marquee we could have and how things worked. On first impression of speaking and meeting Tony, we knew this was the company we wanted to handle our wedding. Obviously, food was also a priority and we asked if they did tastings.  There and then at our meeting, Tony called Chrystelle and booked us in for one of their Tasting Events that was just about to happen.

Tasting

Off we went in March to Slaugham Place.  Everything was there; marquee, toilets, DJ, photo booths, tables set up with different centre pieces and decorations, all of which you can hire and book.

On entering you got a warm welcome, coats taken, drinks served and allocated to a table with a brochure containing information on the tasting and the other companies who supported them (DJ etc).  The staff started to come round with sample canapés, starters, then main meals and desserts.  So much choice!  We decided there and then this was the company for us.  The staff were polite, friendly and could answer any of your questions you had concerning food and drinks.  Tony and Chrystelle flowed around the room talking to everyone and answering any questions you had.  We went home feeling satisfied this was for us.  It was booked.

The Lead Up

Discussions went on with Chrystelle and Tony of what was required by us and them.  Everything was answered straightaway and you were put at ease by Chrystelle’s cheery disposition and friendliness.  A meeting was arranged with Tony to go through all the final arrangements several weeks before the big day.

On the final week to the big day, Tom arrived with his crew to put up the marquee and what a fabulous bunch of guys they were.

It was happening!

During the week, everything was arriving. Friday was the day when it finally came together.  Lexi the co-ordinator and her colleague set the tables up and I added my finishing touches.

Lexi and I then went through the plans for the actual day – I couldn’t believe that it was tomorrow!

The Big Day

The weather was brilliant and everything went to plan.  It was time for the service and we were off to the Church across the road.  After the ceremony we had the lovely stroll back to the house, where the staff were ready to serve the drinks and canapés to our guests and the electric violinist was playing background music. An hour and a half later, dinner was served, piping hot and delicious, to each table.  The staff were excellent, efficient and polite, making sure each table had enough of anything that was required.  We actually called the Chef in at the end of the meal to thank him for a brilliant meal and to also thank the staff.

We had organised our own drinks for the day, which were served by the staff and everything was nicely chilled. You did not really see the staff after the meal, as they worked so expertly in the background during the evening, serving drinks, arranging the evening buffet (Burgers and Cheeseboard) and making sure things were kept clean and tidy.

I have to say thanks to Lexi the co-ordinator who run the day brilliantly for us and kept us on time for cutting the cake etc.

Entertainment

We had arranged our own entertainment as we are very fortunate to know people who entertain and they wanted to perform for us on our wedding day.

Conclusion

We would give Superevent 20 out of 10.  They were brilliant from start to finish.  Nothing was too much trouble and we wish to give a big thanks to all of them for making our day so special. Chrystelle, Tony, Lexi, Tom, Chef and all the staff that helped to made our day…
