About Saltcote Place
We love the variety of the work we do. Creating a wedding day for our couples that is perfect for each pair is what we do best. And the venues we work in make it that much more special. Saltcote Place is one of our wedding venues where there is availability for marquee hire in East Sussex and it proves that we only work with the best venues around!
Saltcote Place is a 5 star boutique bed and breakfast. But it also has stunning grounds. If it is a small and intimate wedding then we can arrange that. If you want up to 350 guests then this can be accommodated in one of our marquees. They pride themselves on only having one wedding per week which is a great selling point for this boutique bed and breakfast. The views over the East Sussex countryside down to the sea also make for great photo opportunities for the bridal couple and guests alike.
If you choose to have marquee hire as well as wedding catering, then on a warm and still day, we can lift the sides of the marquee to give everyone wonderful views and a feeling of being at one with nature. It really is a lovely venue and we get complimented time and time again when we cater a wedding at Saltcote Place.
As is the norm at most weddings, there will be guests who have had to travel. And this is an ideal venue as they have their exclusive bed and breakfast. The Hennessy Suite is called the Bridal Suite but actually has 3 separate bedrooms! Here you will be able to enjoy a late champagne breakfast after the big day. But book soon – the are only a few exclusive suites available!
A bit of history
Designed by the influential architect Sir Reginald Blomfield in the Queen Anne style. The French side of this famous family funded the development for Captain AAR Hennessy and his young bride. The house was completed in 1905 having taken over two years to build and came with 18.5 acres of grounds. The yield from the fruit and vegetables was enough to run the house and pay for the staff who lived on the estate. As a Rye Country mansion, Saltcote Place has enjoyed a colourful past. Above the portico leading into the vestibule we have the Royal Cypher of the late Queen Mother, perhaps in recognition of happy times spent here with the Hennessy family between the Wars.
Outstanding views ranging from Dover to Fairlight over Romney marsh toward Camber beach and the English channel. The harbour is clearly visible and of course panoramic views of Rye bay. From the penthouse looking at the horizon you have uninterrupted panoramic views of at least 50 miles of land and sea views.
So, if you are looking for wedding catering and/or marquee hire in East Sussex, then why not take a peak at the stunning Saltcote Place, one of the wonderful venues that Super Event are proud to regularly work at.
