It really was the perfect day and we wouldn’t change a thing! Looking forward to someone else booking Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd for their big day...

The engagement

We got engaged in June 2016 and very quickly started hunting for our perfect venue. Tony made it clear that we could within reason do what we wanted which made the planning completely stress free.

Chrystelle is THE perfect contact, despite my multiple emails with questions she was always happy to help.

It’s all in the planning…

So over the couple of years we took to plan, we tried to make the day as personable as possible:

  • We had photos of the bride and groom at random ages for our table numbers.
  • We collected wine bottles that we dripped candle wax down the sides for a rustic look
  • There were giant wooden light up letters on the dance floor
  • We had gypsophilia everywhere! And blossom trees either side of the arch.
  • Our cake was a cheese tower as we love cheese! This was then served in the evening along with our hog roast and biscuits, chutneys.
  • We created a “pimp your drink” station using a pallet and jars so people can spruce up their drinks.

We were extremely lucky with the weather as it was the perfect temperature and clear blue skies. This was the only thing I was worried about – it was the only thing that I & Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd could not control but we had luck on our side.

We had a magician walking round whilst we were having drinks and canapes to keep the guests entertained and while the wedding party had their photos. This was a great hit! Everybody loved him. He then stayed and walked round to the tables during the breakfast too.

Music wise – we had a band that came and played a vintage set outside in the grounds whilst we had drinks and canapes. They then stayed for the evening and played two live sets. They were AMAZING! Highlight of the day was everyone, all ages on the dance floor all night long! We didn’t want it to end.

The food

Picking the food was one of the hardest decisions for us. We are big foodies and the options included were all so amazing. Because we booked the wedding so far in advance, we managed to go along to the bride and groom tasting days a couple of times. That in itself was a great experience and really added to the process of wine and food tasting. We loved it!

We included the full drinks package – wine, beer and soft drinks included for all guests. Also purchasing some of our own spirits to be served in the evening.

Canapes – we selected the fish and chip cones, lobster pots, vegetable spring rolls, satay skewers, thai spiced prawns.

Starter – Baked camembert

Main – Lamb Shank with Dauphinoise potatoes

Desert – Trio – Chocolate Cup, Lemon Posset & Shortbread biscuit with strawberries and cream

Evening food – we had the hog roast

The food was cooked to perfection and any dietary requirements were handled so well, even the kids menu was impressive.

To sum up

It really was the perfect day and we wouldn’t change a thing! We wish we could have been a guest at the wedding. Everyone was fed, drank lots and had an amazing time. I look forward to someone else booking them for their big day 😊
