With Super Event in charge, we knew we could really relax and they took control of everything meaning we could enjoy the celebrations

The lead up

Our whole wedding planning experience with Super Event was great from start to finish. Tony visited the site as soon as we enquired with them and once we started chatting we just knew he would have everything under control.

Chrystelle was always available to answer questions (I’d send emails after a slightly sleepless night to receive responses immediately!!)

We were invited to a food tasting event which we decided to also invite our parents. The evening was a great night, allowing us to fully understand how the marquee would look, what the food tasted like (great!) and also meet some of the staff.

Though the whole process, Super Event were helpful, answering any questions we had. Tony visited the site for a second time about a month before the wedding. They came and measured up and together we made a plan as to where the marquee would sit and how the day would go ahead (timings, reception drinks, food plans etc).

The food & drink

After much deliberation we decided on the duck salad to start, the lamb shank for main and a trio of puddings for dessert as we just couldn’t make a final decision. The food was great on the day!

We decided to supply our own drinks with a trip to France for wine and Prosecco and a lot of duty free bottles of spirit. The Super Event crew were very helpful with how much we would need and supplied ice, lemon and limes for our drinks.

Decorations

We used Bows Hire for a fairy light ceiling in the marquee where we were eating. We decided to create our own table displays with flowers from our florist and lots of candles. As it was a winter wedding, we created a lot of light indoors with candles and the up lights around the marquee.

We had a winter wedding and so a wooden flooring was required. The workmen came onsite a week before the wedding (in the torrential rain) to start laying the flooring and before we knew it there was a marquee in place. The day before the wedding we met with the wedding co-ordinator who would be organising the wedding on the day. We went through the plan of the day one final time and Lorraine was very happy to assist the florist with setting up the tables on the morning of the wedding.

The “big days”

Our wedding soon turned into a 2 day event, with the wedding on the Friday and another more informal canapé, drinks and hot food party on the Saturday hosted by our parents. The staff had cleared most of the marquee the night of the wedding but were then there bright and early to finish clearing and start set up for the next party.

On the day, we were so lucky that after a week of rain the sun was shining and it was a beautiful winters day! We arrived at the marquee and our guests had glasses full and the canapés were in full swing! The staff were great and very attentive throughout. Everyone commented on how great the food was.

Overall, we had a great day and couldn’t fault the service we had. With Super Event in charge, we knew we could really relax and they took control of everything meaning we could enjoy the celebrations.
