Andy and I wanted a small, intimate wedding with close friends and immediate family to create a more personal wedding. We looked at many venues but they all seemed far too big for our wedding and we wanted something on a smaller scale but then one day, we found Broadacres by searching on the internet. On the same day I found Broadacres, I phoned up the venue to see if we could view it that day and of course the lovely Jo said “yes, come along”. As soon as we saw the beautiful house, driveway and grounds, we knew this was going to be the one! The venue was exactly what we were after… intimate yet very charming and we could make it our own which is just what we wanted.
We explained to Jo that we wanted a perfect sized marquee for our small wedding next to her house and that is when she highly recommended us to the wonderful Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd and am I pleased she did! They certainly live up to their name!
We asked Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd to put the marquee up two days before the wedding day so that we had plenty of time to decorate the inside. As it happens they put the marquee up 3 days before because the weather forecast was rain up to our wedding date. (Luckily we had beautiful sunshine on the actual day!) We were very impressed how quickly they put the marquee up with no fuss at all and they even thought ahead about the weather.
We had an initial meeting the morning before the big day to make sure all looked OK and all tables were laid out beautifully with white linen table cloths and silver cutlery laid out to perfection.
We had the driveway lined with lanterns and the staff of Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd lit them before the guests came and they also lit the tea lights on the tables for us.
Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd took all the stress out of the biggest day of our lives and Chrystelle was so helpful from beginning to end. She replied very quickly to the numerous amount of emails we sent asking lots of questions and we felt that she was always there should we need her. A service you can fully rely on.
All of our guests commented on how tasty the food was and the presentation was so beautifully done. It was great to see our guests chatting and enjoying all the delicious food which was made even better by the fact that the waiters and waitresses chatted and smiled too! The staff were super-efficient at handing out the canapes and arrival drinks and looked very smart.
We were very impressed at the tasting session but the food tasted even better on the day. The canapes and arrival drinks went down very well and kept the guests going until we sat down for the main course and dessert.
The canapes we chose were the Lobster pots, Mini Fish and Chips, Thai spiced prawns, Mini Yorkshire puddings with roast beef and horseradish and Mini Vegetable Spring rolls. All were absolutely scrumptious!
For the main course, we had the amazing Southdown Lamb shank which just fell off the bone and had an amazing flavour.
Finally, for dessert, we had the yummy triple delight which was, the Lemon Posset, Raspberry Pavlova and Dark Chocolate Cup. Something for everyone.
We decided to supply our own drinks which was not a problem at all and Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd let us give one free drink to our evening guests out of our own left over wine before they would then use the cash bar. This worked really well.
