Wadhurst Castle is quite simply stunning. Set in beautiful countryside, with easy access to the A21 as well as other main roads, it is a pure delight to all who visit. And we are very proud to now be wedding caterers at Wadhurst Castle, as well as so many other wedding venues in Sussex.
A bit about the castle
First built in 1818-1820 by James Louis West, it was badly damaged by fire in 1933. Architect, Alfred Matthews bought it the following year and set about repairing the damage. The Canadian Army then commandeered it in the Second World War. Now owned by two families, the Fitzgeralds and Cloughs, who have brought the castle and gardens back to life and have made something really wonderful of it. As a venue, Wadhurst Castle is glorious…as a wedding venue, it is exceptional!
They can offer several rooms licensed for civil ceremonies allowing you to choose from the intimacy of the Moncrieff Room, the Victorian charm of the Winter Garden with its display of exotic plants, or for larger numbers, the grandeur of the Drawing Room. In summer it is very popular to have the ceremony conducted in the Pavilion in the spacious and private Walled Garden.
