The ease of having Super Event for the catering and marquee was such a load off our shoulders and they even had our chosen choice of food; a BBQ!

The venue

We first started looking for wedding venues in the New Year having got engaged in September 2015. After viewing a couple of nothing specials, we came across this venue and immediately booked a viewing with Country House Wedding Venues for 20.03.2017. On the frosty January morning, we met with Tony, the Managing Director of Super Event. It’s not often you get to meet the Managing Director to show you around.

We fell in love and considering it was foggy, icy and dull, could see the potential that this beautiful venue had to offer. Tony answered any of our questions and helpfully explained how the day would go if we chose the venue. It was so exciting to hear to think that we could be getting married here and imagining what it could be like! The following Monday, we booked our wedding for 27th May 2017 at 12pm.

The food

The tastings were awesome and even more exciting as they took place at our venue. We were overwhelmed with the amount of food and alcohol that could be tasted, everything was delicious and we got to go twice! Chrystelle was really helpful when it came to choosing what options to have, it’s so easy and there’s no pressure. It didn’t matter whether we supplied our own drinks, only had a main meal or had everything done by Super Event. It’s such a relaxing way to manage the wedding.

We decided to supply our own drinks, have canapes after the ceremony and then a BBQ, with dessert for the wedding breakfast. We hired a Mobile Pizza Van for our evening food as we’re obsessed with pizza! Chrystelle arranged all of this with the company so we didn’t need to get involved which we really appreciated. Her advice on the Top Table arrangements was invaluable too. Most bride and grooms haven’t done this before so experience from the team was much appreciated.


We had our final meeting face to face about 6 weeks before the wedding with Tony and Chrystelle assisting. It was very reassuring to go through everything, get excited and understand next steps. Which were to drop the drink and some decorations off 3 days before the BIG DAY and then leave it all up to the experts! We couldn’t ask for more. All Chrystelle needed from us was a list of what to do with our bits and went through it whilst we were there. I had no worries at all.

The big day

Then the day of our beautiful wedding arrived. From 8am on 27th May, the hiring company arrived the put up the lanterns, the garden games were laid on the lawn, Super Event started laying out the tables after stripping the marquee overnight from the wedding the day before. The ceremony chairs were put out and at 10.30am, the groom arrived in style, with his ushers to help finalise the details. Super Event were there to help the groom without quarrel. It was a busy morning, mainly due to the fact that we had an early ceremony and nerves! Wendy was the supervisor on the day. The staff were so excited for us which makes you realise that it is your wedding day and they want to help as much as they can to make your day unforgettable. The bride arrived at 11.40am for her interview before being taken to the walk down the aisle at 12.15pm.

The canapes went down a treat! All food ran exactly to plan and the drinks were flowing all day! The guests were very complimentary about the quality of the food. The dietary requirements went to plan without any hassle. Super Event couldn’t have done a better job and relieve the stress from us.

The most nerve racking and exciting part of our day was our first dance. We met doing what we love, dancing, so there was a lot of pressure on us. We decided to change and Super Event made this easy for us by letting us use the library to keep our change of clothes in and change. It also gave us some space together and reflect on the day so far. We were actually married! Our dance went down a storm and Super Event were very complimentary as it’s not something they’ve seen at one of their weddings before. Once everyone had gone home, Wendy asked us to do it again so she could see it properly! The interest that Super Event show in your wedding is so heart warming.

We’re so grateful to the work Super Event put in and mostly, Chrystelle for all of the behind the scenes work. She was excellent from the very beginning all the way to the aftermath and congratulating us on our nuptials. Thank you Super Event, we hope to be a guest at one of your weddings in the future!
