Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd were overall a joy to share the experience with. They listened to what we wanted and really helped to create the best day ever!
Rob and I got engaged in Sri Lanka on New Years eve in 2018. As soon as we starting planning, we knew it was going to be an easy decision on where we would get married. I grew up in Waldron and my family house has been there for 21 years. It’s a beautiful country village with a beautiful church and pub, idyllic for a country wedding!
Rob’s family are from Mayfield – Only a 10 minute drive from Waldron. So, for us it was a easy decision.
We quickly heard about Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd and how well they cater for large parties & to such a high level. So we quickly booked in to meet with them.
For us we wanted a catering company who were going to serve amazing food and drink but also a company who would be able to help with the logistics and planning of the full day – which they certainly did.
As we planned the wedding without a wedding planner this was important to us. Tony gave us so much advice, especially on timings for the whole day. We wouldn’t have had a clue!
We had a very clear style from the beginning and a theme throughout. Very minimalistic & scandi design. Lots of green foliage and white flowers, a crisp white look with minimal black touches.
For the music we as soon as we got engaged we knew who to book. Rob and I have seen this amazing Saxophonist in Soho numerous times in a bar and he always gets the crowd dancing. He was one of the first people we booked! So our entertainment was sorted.
For the cake I had my good friend make it for us – which was really special and was honestly the best cake we’ve ever tasted. We went very untraditional on the cake and went for flavours we liked.
We got married at 1:30pm on Saturday 25th May in Waldron Church. The morning itself was actually very chilled; I was with my bridesmaids and my family, where we all got ready, at the venue.
We had a champagne breakfast before having hair and make up done.
It was very relaxing and fun and I didn’t get nervous until it was my turn to be driven to the church with my dad.
I loved that moment for me. It was extremely special as I felt so nervous and so excited all at once and got to share it with my dad. The actual ceremony was so lovely and my brother surprised us by performing a song he wrote about our relationship – it was very emotional!
On returning to the reception we had drinks and canapés ready for us – the weather gods were looking out for us as the sun shone! We had a saxophonist who played chilled music throughout the day.
At 5pm we went into the marquee for the sit down wedding breakfast. A big selling point to us to choose Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd was their willingness to create a starter for us. I’m a HUGE poached egg fan and wanted poached eggs to be served at our wedding. The chefs did an amazing job and managed to serve 140 poached eggs, perfectly!
The food and wine flowed and then it was time for the speeches. This was maybe our favourite part of the day. It was amazing to look out at all our family and friends and them hearing our stories. My Dad, Rob and Robs best man, Sam all did wonderful speeches and I also managed to squeeze one in there as a little surprise for everyone.
After the speeches it was finally time for us to let out hair down and dance the night away. We carried on until 2am and no-one wanted it to stop. It was honestly the best day of our lives!
The following day we had a smaller event for our wedding party and both families, we had Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd come back and put on the most amazing BBQ. It was really one of the best decisions we made, as they cleared up the whole of the marquee and totally reset ready for day two.
Much more chilled but equally as special.
Overall Super Event Catering & Marquee Hire Ltd sorted so much our for us. They sourced different table ware that suited our style. Also putting us in touch with local companies who were overall a joy to share the experience with. They listened to what we wanted and really helped to create the best day ever!
